The will of Christopher Bedlake ( -1653)
Christopher was a 9 x great grandfather of mine.
He wrote a simple will, leaving almost everything to his wife for her lifetime and then equally between his four daughters. The one exception was that eldest daughter Mary was to receive one bedsted and a table. He allowed for the possibility of a dispute between his daughters or their husbands, and said that any starting a suit would get just five shillings.
