In the Name of God Amen – I Robert Goatham of the parish of Saint Mary Rotherhithe in the County of Surry Pilot being in perfect health and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and to prevent any disputes that might arise after my death do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soul to God my Body to the earth to be decently interred at the direction of my Executrix hereinafter named and as for such Temporal Estate and Effects as God hath been pleased to bless and endow me with I give devise and bequeath the same as followeth Imprimis I desire that all my just debts and funeral Expenses be first fully paid and satisfied I then give and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Goatham all my household Goods plate Linnen wearing apparel Books Book and all other debts {Reonty?} Money Money in the Public funds and all Securities for Money whatsoever to her own use for and during her natural life and after her decease whatsoever property shall then remain I give and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto Lydia and Maria Thompson my Niece Elizabeth Soper (of Deptford) to be divided between them in even and equal shares share and share alike to hold the same and every part and parcel thereof to them and their heirs for ever All the cost residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind ?? the same may be or consist or whereof I may die possessed or entitled unto I give devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my said Wife to hold the same for and during her natural life and after her decease the remainder (if any) to be divided between the above named Lydia and Maria Thompson Elizabeth Soper and in even and equal portions share and share alike to hold the same and every part and parcel thereof to them and their heirs for ever And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Mary Goatham whole and sole Executrix of this my said last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills and Testaments by me at any time herebefore made declaring these presents only to be and contain my said last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of apper In Witness whereof I the said Robert Goatham the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty ninth day of October in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and four Robert Goatham (LS) signed sealed and published and declared by the above named Robert Goatham (the Testator) as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Richard Hill, Robert Horne Homeward, Sarah Homeward.
