Sussex in Surrey
i.e. where my Sussex ancestors drifted so far north in the county they crossed the boundary into the neighbouring Surrey parishes of Chiddingfold and Dunsfold.
Wasn’t meaning to work on this side of the family at present, but a link in an email resulted in me looking at the West Surrey FHS resources, and buying copies of transcripts of the above parishes (on microfiche), as well as some will listings. I’ve found some Ede ancestors, and most excitingly seen a will listed of a John Court, husbandman of Chiddingfold, I believe to be one of my direct ancestors.
I’ve also purchased a set of CDs of Kirdford PRs – transcripts and images. Much more expensive than the above microfiche but much cheaper than a trip to the Sussex PRs.
