Walter Wotton is a 9 x great grandfather of mine

In the name of God Amen
I Walter Wotton of Blackawton in the County of Devon doe
make this my last Will and Testament revoaking all former Wills
and Testament Imprimis I give unto my beloved wife one bond which
I have from her Mother Hannah Baylye of Stockefleming for the
payment of One hundred pounds in or about the [blank space for date – not included!]
next ensueing [start of few lines crossed out] Item I give unto my daughter Jane Holdich Tenn
pounds And if she shall have any child or children liveing at the time
of my death I give unto such child or children the Sum[m]e of Fifty pounds
share and share alike Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth
Dyning the sum[m]e of Tenn pounds And if she shall have any
child or children

Elizabeth Dyning and English Wotton Tenn pounds each Item I
give unto my unkle Crispin Wotton Tenn pounds and to Anna
Mathews of St Geroges in Exon [Exeter] six pounds and to her sister
Martha Chaplain Three pounds and to Agnis Bounkew of
Blackawton Three pounds and to Richard Tucker of Blackawton
Tenn Shillings and to the parson or Vicker of Blackawton Tenn
pounds Item I give unto the Vicker of Blackawton Nicholas
Friend Richard Curtis and John Holdich of the said parish of an
Sum[m]e of Twenty pounds for to be leyen out and bestowed in the
teaching the children of such poor people of the said parish as
have not releife of the said parish, and are not able to pay for
the schooling of their children to read the English Bible (and buy
them Bibles) at the choice and discretion of the said Vickar Nico
Friend Ricd Curtis and John Holditch Item I give unto Mr
George Trosea Mr [blank space] Hoppin Ministers of Exon Tenn
pounds each And my will is That all these aforesaid Legacies
shall be paid to the respective persons abovesaid 12 mos after
my decease Item if please God I dye without issue male or
female I give all my lands in the parish of Blackawton and
elsewhere unto the heires male of the body of my daughter Jane
Holdich And for want of heires male of her the said Janes body
unto the heires males of the body of my daughter Elizabeth
Dynning And for want of heires males of her body unto the
heires males of my daughter English Wotton And for want of
such heires males Then to the heires females of my said daughter
Jane Holdich And for want of heires female of my said daughter
Then to the heyres females of my daughter Elizabeth Dynnings
And for want of such heyres Then to the heyres females of my
daughter English Wotton And for want of such heires to the
heires males of Richard Ford of Blackawton aforesaid And
for want of such heires to the heires males of Samuell Wotton
likewise of Blackawton And for default of such issue to John
Chollwich
of Forringden and his heires for ever Item I give unto
the said John Cholwich Geroge Trosse [blank space] Hoppin and John
Ridler All the rest of my personall Estate bonds bills debts goods
and chattells and to their heires for to be by them leyen out and
disposed of to such charitable uses as they or the major part
of them shall think fitt Witness my hand and seale this 28th

The will was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury and is held at the National Archives.
