Wills of Halkes or close relations of Halkes on this tree due to the Halke connection transcribed so far (some more to do, and most below need tidying and linking fully into my tree – so far they are mostly only linked to from the testator).
Wills not currently on my tree
Please contact me if you are interested in any of these.

Halke Wills etc. I have but ...

Sampson of Sandwich - 1601 - any link unknown
Thomas of Hollingbourne - 1487 - any link unknown, but not read it as in Latin
Thomas (Hawkes) of Canterbury - 1603 - any link unknown
William of Aldington - 1487 - any link unknown, but not read it as in Latin
William of Canterbury - 1531 - any link unknown, but not read it as in Latin
William of Lynsted - 1524 - any link unknown
William of Allington [Aldington] - 1558 - any link unknown
John of New Romney - 1547 - any link unknown
Thomas of Hartlip - 1481 - any link unknown, but not read it as in Latin
Norton of Bircholt - 1642 - Act, not will - PRC/3/36a/91 - I'm not transcribing at present because it's in Latin. Clearly mentions the will of his father, William, though indexed on Canterbury Probate Records database under Norton rather than William. William named Norton as his executor, but both were buried on the same day. My very limited knowledge of Latin means that I know it mentions widow Elizabeth, but I don't know whose; both father and son lefts widows called Elizabeth. Both also left daughters named Elizabeth; I think the one mentioned was probably William's daughter, as Norton's would have been far too young to act as an executrix or administrator, although sometimes children were appointed and others acted for them.
Although I hope to learn enough Latin to translate some documents myself the potential confusion here and the document being short means I will probably pay to have it translated professionally.
