GRO ref: Hunt, William E q3 1916 aged 77 Malling RD 2a 765; GRO online index shows middle name as Edward

(Of Williams of approximately the right age who died in Kent between 1911 and 1921, it is the best based on location, and accurate with regard to age. A middle name was never used for William in his life time, but it is easy to see how the informant may have imagined he had his father's name Edward as a middle name, especially as he named a son William Edward)

    • Sybilla was a witness (I have also seen Sittingbourne given as the place of the wedding but I was sent the Wormshill info. by Michael Nightingale of Wormshill)
An online index of Wormshill marriages also includes this and shows that Edward     HUNT was single and of Tunstall, Catharine MILGATE single and of Doddington - unusual, since at this time the requirement was for one of the couple to be 'of' the parish where the marriage took place, but it was where Edward's mother may have been living at the time, so perhaps a concession was made. (Mary, Edward's mother, may have been related to Catharine through her second marriage, as her second husband was also a Milgate.)
