would like to do more research on my Kent ancestors (Halke).
Halke seems to be a surname that has died out. I don't know any living Halkes.
My great grandfather was born William Alfred Spicer Halke but dropped the Halke when he left Kent.

Found your website while researching the Caves family tree. Have started going down the Bowles family line and discovered a link to the Browning family. Edward Browning, my husband's seven times great grandfather married an Elizabeth Halke. Your website is fascinating.

This is a brilliant website. I have only just started researching my family tree, and am fascinated to find I am a fourth cousin of Teresa. Ivy Amy Katherine Hunt being the common denominator. I hope to have more information on my tree soon.

I think my progress will be slow, mostly because years ago everyone seemed to have the same names in the family. For example, my great grandfather was Charles Dove, my grandfather was Charles Dove and my Dad was Eric Charles Dove. Then there is the added confusion of finding people. My grandfather was named as Chas on the 1901 census. Took me a while to find him, even though I knew exact dates and locations.

All a learning curve. Thank you Teresa for an inspiring website.

Hello Teresa
It was lovely to find some of our ISSELL ancestors here and research that confirmed some of my own notes.
Thomas Montgomery PERROTT, an Army Surgeon of H.M. 41st Regiment of Foot, served in the Peninsular Campaign, at Walcharen and the first Burmese War before he married Mary Johanna/Joanna ISSELL. They are my maternal grandfather's great grandparents (I am 5th generation descended).
Mary Johanna PERROTT's died 21-Jul-1879 in Sydney NSW. She was buried on 23-Jul-1879 next to her husband, Thomas Montgomery PERROTT, who died 12-Jun-1853 and was buried the following day after he fell from a horse while hurrying to administer to a man who had cut his throat. They are buried at the Church of England burial graves, Jamberoo, near Kiama on the south coast of NSW.
Kind regards
Alexandra J Cornwell (Brunswick Heads NSW Australia)

Fantstic website. It's helped me fill in so much. I'm descended through Springfield Hunt and Sibella Lettis, through Sibella Hunt to her marriage with Edward Pritchard my great great great grandfather.
