  Notes	The marr index (FreeBMD) shows Rebecca as having the surname Dean when she married Alfred, but when her mother was with them in 1871 her surname was Thompson. Given the Maidstone baptism to match this and the birth date and place suggested from the census I think her mother had been widowed and re-married after Rebecca's birth. (A quick look - not a thorough investigation - shows a widow Sarah Dean did remarry in Maidstone in 1833, but there isn't a burial of a William Dean by then; there is one who died in the lunatic asylum aged 37 in 1839, which could be Rebecca's father. The 1833 marriage was to a Naylor, not a Thompson, but in Medway RD in 1851 a Sarah Naylor may have married a 3rd William, William Thompson (every one a William, she wouldn't have a Harry or a Sam?!) )
