The understanding of The classification of apoplexy based on autopsy reports published in the C17th and C18th was still accepted at the beginning of the C19th, and part of this, the concept of "serous apoplexy," was to last until the latter part of the C19th. Notes
    • in St John the Baptist, Margate (1841 census)
      Left a will - I have transcription (made in c. late 1970s)

I know his wife was Mary from the 1841 census, I suspect that it was he who married in St. Magnus the Martyr in 1785, but can't be certain of this. (Quite a few of Robert's close family married in London)

Made a petition to Trinity House for assistance in 1821.

    • Robert and Mary were batchelor and spinster at the time they married, both were of the parish of St. Magnus the Martyr and they married by banns.
Only witness was William Tilley - probably the parish clerk as he was witness to a lot of weddings.
Both signed, Robert's writing quite poor.

I can't imagine he had a lot to leave; given that he had appealed for aid to Trinity House.
