  	GRO ref: HAMBLYN, Mary q1 1865 Newton A RD 5b 136; GRO online index shows age at death as 49 (Although in this family by now the spelling of the surname was more-or-less stable as Hambling, in this case it seems to be this Mary despite the Hamblyn. The cemetery register does have Hambling, and this Mary had almost certainly died by the time her husband remarried in 1868. The age and cemetery also suggest this Mary - the former being close to that suggested by her age in censuses, and the cemetery being where other family were buried, including her daughter the following month. In addition her abode shows the same street as that given for her daughter.)

  	From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 18 May 2015) Shows by banns, both signed, witnesses were John Tickell and Mary Whitell. It seems probable that John and Mary would have had one or more other children between Elizabeth and Charles. Sometime between Elizabeth's birth and the 1851 census the family seem to have moved from Kingsbridge / Dodbrooke (in Kingsbridge Reg District) to Tormoham (in Newton Abbot Reg District). I say "seem to have" because they could have moved from Kingsbridge / Dodbrooke to X and then later from X to Tormoham. No child born and died in Kingsbridge RD during this period (or born Kingsbridge RD / died Newton Abbot RD); in Newton Abbot RD is a Sarah Ann Hambling, whose birth was registered in Dec Q 1847 (GRO ref vol 10 p.143) and whose death was registered in JUn Q 1848 (GRO ref vol 10 p.118) (there were a few other - not many - Hambling births in Newton Abbot RD at this period) A possible child of theirs in Kingsbridge RD was a John who was born and died in 1840: GRO ref (birth): Hambling, John q3 1840 Kingsbridge 9 323 GRO ref (death): HAMBLING, John q3 1840 Kingsbridge RD 9 2__ (there were a number of other Hamblings born around this time belonging to other families, many being children of John's brothers so it is far from certain that John was the son of John) There was also a birth in 1841: GRO ref: Hambling, William Hellens q1 1841 Kingsbridge 9 399 The middle name is similar to that recorded as the surname of a child with John and Mary in the 1841 census. However, the firstname is different, the age different (given as 3 in the census - but it could be that is should have said 3 mo or 3 wks). With so many differences I think there was probably no link between the 2.
