A Hugh Bellow was baptised in Plymouth (Charles Church) in 1669; could be this Hugh but I think more likely his baptism record is not, for one reason or another, online.
Gender Male Occupation From 1708 to 1713 Straw joiner - Recorded as such when his first wife was buried and when his son Thomas was baptised.
It seems a straw joiner was a thatcher, a term particularly used in the west country.
When I visited Higher Uppacott in 2012 it was explained how the Devonshire way of thatching was not to strip off the old and replace with new, but to add new on top. Perhaps this explains the term - the skill was joining the new straw to the old.

I think the word at the end is jun, but not sure. I did at first think it might be Ind, meaning that Grace was independant of the control of parents or guardians. But I have seen the same against some baptisms where it is clearer.
