Jane WILLIAMS, b. Abt 1777, bur. 3 Mar 1844, St. Mary of Charity Church, Faversham, Kent, England (Age ~ 67 years) (Grandmother)Notes - (Research):What happened to Sarah after she married her second husband in 1881?
In 1881 a Sarah Goldsmith, widow, is living with William Pysing. Although she is shown as 'housekeeper' there is a seven year old Mary Goatham present who I am sure must be the daughter of this Sarah. Listed after Sarah, Mary is described not as 'daughter' (meaning daughter of Sarah, as is often found in the censuses, although the relationship should be to the head of the household), but as 'daughter in law' - an old term for step-daughter. If Mary was the step-daughter of William, then it suggests that Sarah was living as William's wife. Later that year Sarah married 'Edward William Pysing'.
I have yet to discover Sarah in the 1891 census; maybe her unusual surname has been mis-recorded and / or mis-transcribed. By 1891 Mary was working as a live-in servant so not with her mother or step-father.
I believe I have found William Pysing in 1891, recorded (as in 1881) as William rather than 'Edward William'. His age and birthplace are correct, but he is shown as single. One of the six crew of a vessel, the 'Stephen and Sarah', the census form was filled in by the master (it is signed and the signature is in the same hand) so it may not be that William claimed to be single but rather that the master thought he was. The master and two others of the crew were Dadds, born Whitstable, but the 'Stephen and Sarah' is recroded as belonging to Faversham. Does the fact that William was believed to be single, though, indicate that he and Sarah had parted? If Sarah had parted from William she may have been living under a different name and maybe why I haven't found her in 1891.
She was, though, still alive. I have now found she remarried in qtr 3 1896, i.e. soon after William died, to James Harris. I have found both of them in the 1901 and 1911 censuses and it appears they both died in the 1920s.

"William Goatham Bacheler and Charlotte Evans Spinster [sic] ..."
Married 15 May 1841 St. John the Baptist Church, Bredgar, Kent, England - GRO ref: GOATHAM, William to EVANS, Charlotte q2 1841 Milton RD 5 441
Details from PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 20 Jun 2019)
Charlotte was shown as a widow when she married William, with her father named as 'Robert Barrel', though 'Barrel' seems to be a mistake for 'Barrow'. Her maiden name is variously shown as Barrow or Evans on the birth certificates of her children (information from the GRO online index, viewed 5 Nov 2016).
The censuses show Charlotte was born about 1817 in Faversham and there is a Charlotte Barrow who fits this perfectly. In addition, in the 1841 census Charlotte Barrow's mother is living in Bredgar very close to William and Charlotte (just a couple of entries apart on the census), with an Aylett family. It seems that Charlotte's sister Ann had married one John Aylett in 1834, and Ann's mother was with them. I think it probable that after Charlotte was widowed by the death of her 'Evans' husband she went to live with or at least visited her mother and sister in Bredgar, and thus got to know neighbour William Goatham.
William was still shown as married not a widower in the 1871 census, but Charlotte was not with him and their 3 youngest. She was living in her birthplace Faversham when she died; whether she had left him and was there in 1871 I don't know.

Family 2 Walter GOLDSMITH, b. Dec Q 1854, Benenden, Kent, England , d. 26 Apr 1877, St. Werburgh’s Parish, Hoo, Kent, England (Age ~ 23 years) Married 20 Jun 1875 Holy Trinity Church, Sittingbourne, Kent, England - GRO ref: GOATHAM, Sarah to GOLDSMITH, Walter q2 1875 Milton RD 2a 1176a
Details from PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 20 Jun 2019)
The Walter Goldsmith born in Benenden in 1854 was the only Walter living near Bredgar and born 1845 - 1860. I think it highly probable that this was the one Sarah married, although she appears in the 1881 census as aged 22 and born Sittingbourne.
Fanny was the only child with the surname Goldsmith, mother's maiden name Goatham, searching the GRO online index for 1873 - 1882. Sarah, though, would appear to have had a daughter before she married Walter.
