Cause originally entered as "Knocked overboard, injured and accidentally drowned", but then struck through and a much longer entry made (image on FMP not clear enough to read, need to check at TNA): "?? ?? ?? in Yarmouth Roads ??? storm crane unwounded ?? and we hit in Bowspit to ?? ?? when the whole lot went with him. The cook informed me of the occurrence and he was then astern[?] ?? vessel before the wind and attempted to get him with a lifebyou but he was gone within five minutes."
