Both the PR and the 'duplicate book' (from which entries were copied to the PR) shows Ellen's dob as 5 April 1904, but clearly this is wrong as her birth was registered the previous year. Perhaps her Dad worked out the year by subtracting her age from the year - but she hadn't had her birthday. Women are often better at remembering dates, but Ellen's mother had died. I did guess that 5 April was correct, just the year wrong, but the entry I believe probably to be for this Ellen in the 1939 register shows her date of birth as 23 April 1903! Since this date is also in the death registration I think 5 April was probably also an error (there are several errors amongst the entries for the 5 cousins baptised the same day).
