Fanny GOLDSMITH
Set As Default Person -
Name Fanny GOLDSMITH Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Mar Q 1876 Milton Reg Dist, Kent, England
- GRO ref: GOLDSMITH, Fanny q1 1876 Milton RD 2a 850; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Goatham
Gender Female Residence 1878 20, Shakespeare Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, England
- Fanny seems to have been living with her paternal grandmother at the time of her death (I can't be certain, she died there but it is possible that it is only at the end, when she was sick, that she went there for her grandmother to care for her). I don't know if her mother was living there too, but I think most likely not, I suspect Sarah was working, most likely as a live-in domestic servant, while her mother-in-law looked after her daughter.
Died 10 Nov 1878 20, Shakespeare Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, England
Cause: Bronchitis - GRO ref: GOLDSMITH, Fanny q4 1878 aged 2 Milton RD 2a 500

Details from PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 20 Jun 2019)
The Walter Goldsmith born in Benenden in 1854 was the only Walter living near Bredgar and born 1845 - 1860. I think it highly probable that this was the one Sarah married, although she appears in the 1881 census as aged 22 and born Sittingbourne.
Fanny was the only child with the surname Goldsmith, mother's maiden name Goatham, searching the GRO online index for 1873 - 1882. Sarah, though, would appear to have had a daughter before she married Walter.
