Curtis MA Curate This Marriage was solemnized between us, Edward Jarett Baker, Charlott Gatham in the Presence of us, Richard Dunk, Elizabeth Jane her X mark Goatham" (Archive reference U3/146/1/16, p. 52) Notice was placed in the Faversham Mercury 11 Oct 1879 (KFHS CD-ROM 02/07) The 1911 census shows that Edward and Charlotte had had 9 children, of whom 8 were still living. I can only find 8, using the censuses and the GRO online index (including searching the latter without entering a mother's maiden name, and looking through all Baker births in Faversham, 1878-1907, for a name that could be a mis-recording or mis-transcription of Goatham that the phonetic search might have missed). Although Charlotte's son Frederick Edward William, born 1876, was not the biological son of Edward it apperas they may have been counting him as well.
