The Basey family consisted of a young couple, James and Ann and their one year old son, another James. James senior was born in Bloomsbury and his wife in Liverpool so it is unlikely there was any family link.

In 1891 Charles was still working for the Elringtons and living with Esther in Vernon Hill House, but their son, now married, had moved away, though only by about 5 miles.
