Name Peter GLUBB Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1580 - Given that Peter named a daughter Alse, I am guessing that the widow Alse Glub who died in 1625/6 was his mother.
My estimate of his birth year is based on when he may have married Elizabeth based on them having 5 children together (see marriage notes for a discussion of this). However, that is the latest likely year; they may have had more children who I haven't been able to identify as theirs, making the year of marriage earlier and Peter's likely birth date similarly earlier.
Gender Male Will 25 May 1654 Written Buried 4 Jun 1657 St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, Devon, England - PR just shows Peter Glub
Probate 10 May 1658 London, England Occupation Tavistock, Devon, England Cordwainer - There was a tannery in Tavistock and shoe making a common occupation in the town.
Notes - (Research):I thought perhaps he was the son of the widow Alice who was buried in 1626, as he called a daughter Alice, or else that he was a nephew of Alice, then with Alice possibly godmother. However, not only was Alice quite a popular name at this time, but I think the Alice buried in 1626 was probably the defendant in a Court of Chancery case in 1620. This shows that Alice and her (by then late) husband John had only one daughter.
The Chancery case gives information about John's brothers and sister and their children (or lack of them); whilst Peter could be a son of Walter who had 'divers children', with 3 or 4 still living in 1620, I think the lack of any of the same names amongst the family in the answers to the bill and the known sons of Peter suggests there was no close link.

Family 1 Elizabeth GREENE, b. Est 1585, bur. 25 Jun 1615, St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, Devon, England (Age ~ 30 years) Married Aug 1602 St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, Devon, England - From BTs (image on FamilySearch)
"[date missing] Peter Glubb & Elizabeth Greene were marryed"
- under heading 'August 1602',
Probably before 1607 if Peter and Elizabeth had 5 children together.
I can't be certain that they did: it is possible some that I show as their children were Peter's by his subsequent (or even an eariler) marriage. It seems most likely that they were the children of Peter and Elizabeth. The date of his marriage to Amy means that the baptisms should be in the surviving PRs for children of that marriage and from what I've seen of the images of PRs they appear to have survived in good condition, though I don't know if there are pages missing etc.

Family 2 Ame HOLLOCK, bur. 6 Jun 1645, St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, Devon, England Married 11 Aug 1616 St. Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock, Devon, England - PR shows Peter GLUBB marr Ame HOLLOCK
Hollock was her name when she married, but Ame may have been a widow. In his will Peter leaves a bequest to "my daughter in Lawe Joane Rowe". I guess it could be the widow of a son who had remarried, but it could be the daughter of Ame by a previous marriage (since Ame was described as a Hollock when she married Peter, Row may have been Joan's married surname, or Ame could have been married more than once before). Or did Peter marry again after Ame died (about 12 years before him, so there was plenty of time for him to do so)? - in which case it could be a step-daughter (then known as daughter in law) but that marriage. But given that a wife is not mentioned in his will and I have not come across the burial of another wife between those of Amy and of Peter, I suspect he did not re-marry.
Sometimes all the married women left bequests are referred to as "Nnn wife of ..." but Peter didn't do this, so it is not possible to know whether Rowe was Joan the beneficiary's married name or whether she was single.
A grandson of Peter, Zechariah Mattacott, married a Joan Row in 1688. I think it very unlikely (due to dates and likely ages) that it was the Joan Row mentioned in the will, but it could have been a descendant of her, although of course Joan was a very popular Christian name, and Row a common surname in the area. - Given that Peter named a daughter Alse, I am guessing that the widow Alse Glub who died in 1625/6 was his mother.
