      A Whitchurch Trade Directory for 1878 showed Thomas Berriball was still farming at Middle Tor. (Dartmoor Press info: details of publication not given).

      Thomas was shown as blind in the 1871 census, which must have limited the work he could do, although this condition was not indicated on the 1881 census, so maybe he was partially sighted.

      Who was George Vogwell? - Mary's grandfather and uncle with this name were both dead by 1840, but she had 3 1st cousins with the name, so it was probably one of them (I haven't compared signatures to try to work out which)
