Blackawton Fair - The annual fair at Blackawton was held on Monday, the 9th inst., when the supply of cattle was rather small, and not much business done; notwithstanding a great number of persons attended. It was decided by the farmers present that the three cows shown by Mr. John Pitts, of Wadstray, were by far the best cattle in the fair. They were valued at £15 each."

Family 2 Eliza, b. Abt 1828, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales , d. Between 1881 and 1891 (Age ~ 53 years) Married Between 1861 and 1871 - In 1871 and 1881 John was with a wife Eliza. However, the index on FreeBMD does not have a marriage of an Eliza to a John Pitts that seems plausible.
Given that I can also not find a death to fit that of Eliza, as suggested by the census, I suspect that John and Eliza may not have married.
