    • Living in "Town" at time of dau Grace's baptism, "Village" in 1841 and 1851 censuses (with 1st husband and children in 1841, 2nd husband and children by 1st in 1851)
      Living in Lower Street, Dartmouth in 1861 with husband, 2 sons and 2 lodgers.
      The family had probably moved back to Blackawton village before Matthew died, though, as not only was Grace there at the time of the 1871 census (2nd / 3rd April) but Matthew died in Kingsbridge RD in the first quarter of that year - Dartmouth is in Totnes RD.
      At the time of the 1871 census Grace was living with her brother-in-law Samuel, like Matthew a carpenter.
      Grace remarried in 1872; possibly this left Samuel homeless for by 1881 he was in the Union Workhouse in Churchstow.
