  	Langley supplied Bredgar with a document dated 30 Sep 1787 acknowledging that the 'Pryer' family had a right of settlement in Langley. The family were described as John Pryer, his wife Amy and Mary (aged 15), John (12), Elizabeth (10), Ann (6), William (3) and Frances (1). The Priors appear to have moved from Langley to Bredgar between 1771 and 1777 judging by the places of baptism of the children - possibly via another parish as the baptism of John has yet to be found. There is no evidence that they returned to Langley. The settlement certificate suggests that the need for support from the overseers of the poor was anticipated, but as the family seem not to have moved it would appear it did not actually arise.
