    • I have found a Richard and Susan in the 1841 and 1851 censuses living in Slapton who I believe are probably this couple.
      Age given as 62 in 1841, 74 in 1851. Birthplace rather surprisingly given as Slapton. Is it a different Susan? or her baptism missing or elsewhere for some reason? Or a mistake in the census? I think the latter most likely.

      ** I have no proof that Susanna was the daughter of William and Mary, but see notes on William's page for why I believe this was probable **
      Or at least, I suspect she was a daughter of William, though it could have been by an earlier marriage.
