Newspaper Cutting – Burton Observer 13 September 1917:
Private A. H. Scriven, Tutbury, Killed
The sad news has been received that Private AH Scriven, of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, was killed in action on July 31st. He is the second son of Mrs. Scriven, of Bridge Street, Tutbury, the well-known wardrobe dealer, and his older brother, Mr. W. Scriven, is a photographer at Tutbury. Private A.H. Scriven and two of his comrades were killed by a shell. He was 39 years of age, and had been in France since January, having enlisted last October. Prior to his death he had forwarded designs for a special shell for the destruction of wire entanglements, to the war office, and these had been acknowledged. By trade, Private A.H. Scriven was a tailor, and was in the employ of Mr. J.W. Lister, of Ashbourne, where his wife and two children live. He was a prominent member of the Ashbourne Wesleyan choir. Last year, on July 1st, Mrs. Scriven's youngest son, Gunner J Scriven, was awarded the DCM for conspicuous gallantry.

The 1911 census indicates that Albert and Elizabeth had had a child who had by then died. I thought I might be able to find them using the GRO online index with searches possible including mother's maiden name, but searching exact spellings doesn't find one, nor phonetic spelling just for mother's maiden name, and phonetic on surname at birth or both surnames repeatedly times out!
