    Notes
    • (Research):No sign of another Harry / Henry William or William Harry / Henry born anywhere in England or Wales in 1878 +/- 5 years, so this strongly points to the one in Liverpool in 1939 being this one, especially as he seems to disappear from Kent, and 'both' were in the Royal Navy, even though the Liverpool one was shown as single in the 1939 register.
Most conclusively, the dob in the 1939 register is 31 May 1883, exactly the same as that in the RN register of seamen's services for the Harry William Fentiman born in Faversham.

      Place from GOONS marriage index.

Mabel and Harry seem to have parted company by 1920. I did think this separation may have occurred earlier, possibly due to the war causing a longer separation than usual, and the general disruption to life, relationships and emotions. However, Harry is recorded as the father of Priscilla, born in 1919. Not that that means he necessarily was her father, of course. It may be significant that when he died a notice appeared in the Faversham News naming children 'Made, Ted, George and Bert'. No mention of Priscilla, although she was still living.

    Married Bef 1939
    • **This relationship may have just been platonic, Lily does not appear to have used the surname Fentiman **
However, the fact that Harry did not return to his family in Kent, as well as not just being in the same house at the time of the 1939 register, but Harry and Lily living at a different address to that of 1939 but the same as each other when they died, suggests there was a close relationship.
