This Marriage was solemnized between us, Thomas Acres, Mary Goatham
in the Presence of us, William Cooper, [forenames unclear*] Marsh"
      * - unclear in old LDS image on FMP in 2012, might be legible in register or in better quality image

The births of all Mary's six children, and the deaths of those who died in infancy, were all registered as Goatham. The only two to survive infancy subsequently appear to have used Acres consistently - when with their mother, and possible father, in 1881, and in the 1891 and 1901 censues, after which in 1906 Harry died and Bessie married.
