It is clear from Janet's birth registration that she was illegitimate. Since less than 6 months later in the 1921 census her mother, Mabel, was living with a boarder, Percy O'Neill, as well as with two daughters, Janet and Priscilla, it seems possible that Percy was Janet's father.
Mabel had two more children after Janet, and the second of these had 'O'Neill' as a middle name, strongly suggesting her father at least was an 'O'Neill', most likely Percy.
