I think this must be the baptism of the John William born over 2 years earlier, as both appear to be illegitimate, there is no other sign of a birth of a John William around 1875, nor of a baptism for the one born 1873.
His private baptism suggests he was ill, although no death / burial seems to have followed, although so far I have not spotted what happened to him or his mother after this event.
