  	From the 1911 census where shown as Winifred Florrie, aged 7 GRO ref: Curtis, Winifred Amelia q2 1904 Plymouth RD 5b 201; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Gotham Clearly the right registration due to mother's maiden name (as well as the absence of a registration of a Winifred Florence / Florrie to fit, so the mother's maiden name wasn't accidentally copied from another entry). But what was her middle name? The 1911 census form appears to have been filled in by Jessie, Winifred's mother, who should have known. However, there is further evidence of a Winifred Amelia (marriage and death) born in 1904 but not of a Winifred Florrie / Florence (though there was a marriage of one in 1933, looking at her date of birth given at death registartion it is clear that was the marriage of a Winifred Florence whose birth was registered in Plymouth in 1908, not this Winifred) Hence I believe her middle name was Amelia Actual date of birth from 1939 register, baptism register entry and death registration.

  	GRO ref: Hemmings, Jessie Louisa to Curtis, William Henry q4 1897 Plymouth RD 5b 481 Details from DFHS transcribed data (shows Jessie Louisa Hemmings married William Henry Curtis, no other info about the couple included) Like so many, Jessie filled in the 1911 census incorrectly where years of marriage and number of children were concerned. As a widow she should have left these fields blank, but her entries are readable although crossed out. She shows the number of years since she first married (22) and the total children and children living and died also appear to apply to both marriages, the figures being 6, 5 and 1. With her in 1911 were her 2 sons from her first marriage and 3 children from her second. A child from her first marriage had died in infancy. The GRO online index (with mother's maiden name) seems to agree these figures.
