But William Lloyd is such a common name that it is easy to imagine there could have been another William marry a Winifred Mary. Although the register does not show a middle initial for Winifred, looking for the death of a Winifred Lloyd with the same date of birth finds just one, a Winifred Mary. The date of birth is also in the quarter in which the birth of Winifred Mary Gotham was registered.
With a birth in 1908 and apparently married by 1939, looking in the marriage registration index for the period 1923-1939 shows just one other couple; they married in Newton Abbot so it seems very unlikely th register entry is for them.
I think it safe to think it is this William and Winifred.
