The Roy who married Winifred was not with his wife in the 1939 register so it is not possible to identify from a dob there. However, I have found the a Roy V Symonds, born Sep 1914 in the register and he is living in Surrey, recorded as single. Hence I think it was the one born 1912 who was married to Winifred.
Also, the death of the one born 1912 was recorded in Plymouth RD, as would seem the most likely location for Winifred's husband.
