Richard ISSELL
Set As Default Person -
Name Richard ISSELL Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1530 - A rough estimate based on my estimate of his sister Margaret. However,
1. my interpreation of the extract of their father's will may be wrong (see marriage notes for Margaret)
2. there could have been a large difference in age between the two siblings (and I don't even know which was the older)
I think Richard would not have been a minor at the time of the court case, so could have been born any time between about 1500 and 1543.
However, the baptisms of Richard and John who I believe likely to be his sons are more consistent with an approximate date of 1530.
Gender Male Died Yes, date unknown
Siblings1 sister Patriarch & Matriarch
Robert ISSELL, b. Est 1500, d. Between 1562 and 1564 (Age ~ 62 years) (Father)
Alice, d. Aft 1562 (Mother)
Notes - After two sons were baptised the Issells seem to vanish from Ipplepen. Possibly they had moved to Abbotskerswell. A John Eastly was married there in 1614/15; I guess he may be a son of one of this Richard's grandsons. The Parish Register there only survive for Abbotskerswell 1607, so CMB events are mostly lost to us. That said, there are plenty of other parishes in the vicinity whose PRs don't survive, so even if I am right about the link between this Richard and the John who married in Abbotskerwell there could have been a more complicated move.
