Although this is consistent with the actual date (from the 1939 register), and the father's name is right (Thomas, as recorded at John's marriage) there were too many John Thomas Johnsons to be sure that the birth registration is the right one.

My mother told me her aunt Milly had 3 children, including Jack and Mildred, but it appears she had mis-remembered soem details. All 4 were living at the time of the 1939 registration. I think my mother had met one or more of them - she was certainly in contact with one (or more) at one time but lost touch over the years.
