From the 1851 census where shown as Caroline Waite, aged 8. However, if she really was the daughter of Edward she would have been born when her mother was aged about 50, which seems a little unlikely. In addition, her birth appears not to have been reigstered. Quite a few births weren't registered in the early days of registration, so this is possible but most were, so again unlikely.
Perhaps instead of two unlikely events the explanation is that Caroline was the child of Ann Whitehead. However, I can find no registration of the birth of an illegitimate Caroline in Kent around the right time.
