    • From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 2 Mar 2021)
"John Lake of this Parish Mariner Bachelor and Ann Hambling of this Parish Spinster
were married in this Church by Banns both being of age this seventh Day of May in the Year One thousand eight hundred and sixteen
By me Thos. Tanner Officg: Minister
This Marriage was solemnized between us John Lake, Ann Hambling
In the Presence of William Fox, Henrietta Hyne"

Was the marriage this Nancy (Ann) Hambling? I think it probably was. Searching the index on FMP there appear to be a couple of other Ann Hamblings. However, one shown as Ann HAMBLING, daughter of Joan Blight HAMBLING baptised in Blackawton in 1782 seems to be Ann Hambling BLIGHT, daughter of Joan. The other, baptised in Slapton in 1784, appears to have married in that parish.
