  	From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 29 May2017) "1848 Marriage solemnized at the Church in the Parish of Witchling in the County of Kent No. 16, February 26, John Barnard of full age, Bachelor, Labourer, Witchling, father John Barnard, Farmer Esther Spillet, under age, Spinster, no occupation shown, Witchling, father William Spillet, Labourer Maried in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by me, F: A: Crooker This Marriage was solemnized between us, Robert X Trice / John Barnard, Mary X Barnard / Esther Spillet X Signed here by mistake, see no. 17 F: A: Crooker in the Presence of Henry Neeve, Maria Trice" [register entry no. 17 was the marriage of Robert Trice and Mary Barrard, this took place on the same day, probably in a double ceremony, with the register written up in advance, which is how Robert and Mary could sign in the wrong place! If this is accurate, then the unnamed baby boy who was born and died in 1860 was the son of the other John Barnard who married Mary Ann Spillett.
