"The xviith daie was baptized Phillip the sonne of Richard Harris" - under headings 'March' and 'Christninges Anno: doi 1582 & 1583'
Gender Male Will 17 Dec 1644 Written Died Between 17 Dec 1644 and 28 Sep 1646 - Probably after 1 July 1645 when his son Joseph was buried (described as son of Phillip, with no note that Phillip was deceased). No record of his burial appears in Salcombe PRs - missed accidentally or did he die from home and was buried elsewhere?Several burials of a Phillip Harris elsewhere in Devon around this time, 3 at St. Andrew's Plymouth between Dec 1644 and June 1645.
One, on 18 December 1644, was shown as 'a stranger' - could that be this Philip Harris?
Probate 28 Sep 1646 London, England Notes - On 19 Dec 1640 a 'Joan Harris of Allson Widdow' was buried in Malborough; the fact she was 'of Allson' [Alston] suggests she was quite closely related to Phillip - possibly his mother, or maybe a sister-in-law. Family Thomasine BASTARD, b. Est 1598, bur. 15 Oct 1678, All Saints’ Church, Malborough, Devon, England (Age ~ 80 years) Married Bef 1633 - Phillip married a Bastard (Elizabeth, or as I think probably Thomasine) before Joseph Bastard (father of Elizabeth and Thomasine) wrote his will.
Checked baptisms in Malborough (by browsing DFHS images of the PRs) from 1631-1647; no other baptims of the children of Phillip found than the 3 shown, although some of the 1632 entries are illegible.
No marriage licence found in Vivian (to 1631) by searching for Harris or Harrys in a PDF copy but some entries aren't picked up or misread by the OCR.
