Notes - (Research):I cannot find anything prior to his marriage for an Arthur William Anderson, born in Frinsted in about 1890, but there is an Arthur Anderson for whom all the expected records before marriage are easily found (birth reg, baptism, and entries in the 1891-1911 censuses). What is more this Arthur was living in Crown Quay in Sittingbourne in 1911, as was Sarah and her then husband-to-be, William Alfred Goatham, Arthur at no. 20, Sarah at no. 25, so they are likely to have known each other.
There is also no evidence of a Frinsted-born Arthur bc 1890 after 1911 other than Arthur William (there is an Arthur b 1891 in Iwade, d 1971, but looking at a range of data for him he can clearly be distinguished).
Hence, whilst it is common for records to omit middle names used at birth or baptism, but rare for them to be added later, I do think on this occasion Arthur became Arthur William.
