      William HODGES (a Bachelor) had married Sarah CLACKETT (a spinster)  in Bredgar by Banns on 10 May 1812; witnesses were James Hodges and Thomas Jenner - the latter was probably Parish Clerk at the time as he was a witness to most marriages.

      As well as Elizabeth William and Sarah had children:
      James, bap 25 Apr 1813,  Martha bap 18 Apr 1819, twins George and Caroline bap 19 Aug 1821 (bur 21 and 9 Sep 1821) and Sarah Anne bap 5 Apr 1827
