[3] Rector - Thomas was also Vicar of Blackawton, where he lived and was given dispensation to hold both appointments. He employed curates to look after East Allington, though was without one at the time of the Episcopal Visitation of 1779 (though had the matter of arranging a new one in hand).
Being Rector of East Allington brought Thomas £200 a year.
In 1778 one John Edwards had been appointed Curate, for a stipend of '£40 a Year, payable Quarterly. Clause of Residence.'; the following year one William Wells was licensed, with the same stipend and condition.
