This is of little importance compared with the impossibility that he and his brother were born on the dates as shown.
Definitely William's but possibly also John's entries have been added later; it would appear that one at least was inserted in the wrong spot. Maybe William was born in 1655/6.
I don't think there was anything underhand in the adding of the entries - several entries were thus inserted on each of the pages concerned, and I think by the same hand as the rest of the entries. Maybe the register was written up from notes and some were found to have been omitted.
