Notes - (Research):Young is obviously a common name, but I think the Edward Young surgeon of Faversham who died in 1657 was this Edward because:
- his will shows his father was still living and was called George - this Edward's father was called George
- he is referred to as George Younge senior implying there was a younger one - this Edward had a brother George
- this was a medical family: this Edward's father and brother were both apothecaries in Canterbury.
- in 1676 George Young (this Edward's bro) was referred to as the guardian of a Rachel Young, and his will shows she was his niece. Of the other brothers of George that I know of Benjamin was still alive, and Andrew had died too young to have children. That only leaves Edward who could be Rachel's father; he had died by 1676, and the Faversham death agrees with that.

There is quite a large gap between Rachel and George's first and second child. I have browsed the PRs for St. Andrew's Church Canterbury for this period and not relied on indexes, and not found another child of theirs. However, I did note an unusually large number of burials of miscarried babies at that church in 1616; I wonder if there was an infection around causing this and if Rachel miscarried that year - maybe at too early a stage for the foetus to be formally buried.
Then another, larger, gap. A George, son of George was baptised in Chislet in 1623 - need to check for another George Young there, and that it wasn't this one temporarily living outside of the city.
