    • PR shows Peter GLUBB marr Ame HOLLOCK

Hollock was her name when she married, but Ame may have been a widow. In his will Peter leaves a bequest to "my daughter in Lawe Joane Rowe". I guess it could be the widow of a son who had remarried, but it could be the  daughter of Ame by a previous marriage (since Ame was described as a Hollock when she married Peter, Row may have been Joan's married surname, or Ame could have been married more than once before). Or did Peter marry again after Ame died (about 12 years before him, so there was plenty of time for him to do so)? - in which case it could be a step-daughter (then known as daughter in law) but that marriage. But given that a wife is not mentioned in his will and I have not come across the burial of another wife between those of Amy and of Peter, I suspect he did not re-marry.
Sometimes all the married women left bequests are referred to as "Nnn wife of ..." but Peter didn't do this, so it is not possible to know whether Rowe was Joan the beneficiary's married name or whether she was single.

A grandson of Peter, Zechariah Mattacott, married a Joan Row in 1688. I think it very unlikely (due to dates and likely ages) that it was the Joan Row mentioned in the will, but it could have been a descendant of her, although of course Joan was a very popular Christian name, and Row a common surname in the area.
