    • Was a Farmer at Dearswell when he registered the death of his father-in-law John Nicholls in 1839. Farmer of 70 acres employing 2 labourers in 1851, farmer of 90 acres employing 1 man in 1861 (possibly because 2 teenage sons now helping on the farm less men had to be employed). Farm appears to be back to 70 acres in 1871 - was there a transcription error in 1861? By 1871 one son (William) was working with him and 1 labourer and 1 boy were employed.
