    • I'm the 1911 census, Alice was working with her sister Annie in Webb's Hotel.
There were 9 live-in servants, 7 female, including the manageress and her deputy; the 2 male servants were "boots" and a page.
Annie was the housemaid, Alice one of two kitchen-maids.
On census night (2nd April) there were only 2 visitors - both stockbrokers. The hotel had 34 rooms, though, so presumably could accomodate quite a few guests.

A picture of it can be seen here on Flickr; it is a grade 2 listed building. No longer a Hotel, it is now known as Webb's House and is where the offices of the Cornish weekly, The Cornish Times, can be found.
