    • Probably after 1631 as when his wife Margaret died she was described as "wife of ..." not "widow".
      Possibly the Walter buried in Buckland Monachorum on 18 Dec 1653. But a Walter, I suspect of a younger generation, married in BM in 1645 and had a son buried there in 1652 so it could be that Walter.
      More likely the Walter Mattacott of Whitchurch who left a will, proved 1649. (Why couldn't he live until Bishops and Archdeacons and their courts had been abolished?!) From Devon Wills project it is evident that no copy or abstract has been found, just a list entry.
    Notes 
    • (Research):A Johan Mattacot was baptised in 1578 and a Thomasine in 1580 in St. Budeaux - names could suggest they are sisters of Walter (both daus of John).  However, both were common names and Margaret's mother was Joane, who her dau Joane could be named after.
      A Wm Mattacott marr in 1582 in Whitchurch who could have been the father of Walter only clue was that date was appropriate, but now know that Walter named a son Wm, but with such a common name can't read much into this!
