with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1825 Devon, England
- Shown as 15 at the time of the 1841 census
Gender Female Occupation 1841 Horrabridge, Devon, England
Woollen factory - There was a woollen factory, run by Hamlyn and Co., on the banks of the River Walkham in Horrabridge, which supplid the water needed. Some listings show it as "fell mongers and woollen manufacturers".
Jane and Ann and lots of girls and young women from neighbouring houses were employed there. With Dartmoor especially suited to sheep farming there must have been plenty of fleeces to process.
Fell mongers are those who deal in skin (a monger being a dealer, and fell an old word for skin). It involves the removal of wool or hair so the skin can be made into leather.
See Wikipedia article, also an article about a fellmongers' company.

- Entry on FMP - Buckland Monachorum involved - no place given in search results - I thought this might be banns (some entries are) but same on Dartmoor Press as marriage, plus 29th April 1815 was a Saturday and banns were (and are) read on Sundays.
Also, entry on Vogwell website - shows William Vogwell bachelor marr Elizabeth Clynick spinster.
William and Elizabeth seem to have had at least one other child I have yet to find - the petition William made on behalf of his daughter Mary Ann in 1832 refers to 9 children, but Susanna had not then been born.
Given there is a dau Ann, aged 13, in the 1841 census, who doesn't fit clearly as one of the known daughters I suspect this was the 10th. The Ann born 1824 had not died when a 13 year old would have been born; I guess Ann was a second middle name.
