    • (Research):Evidence for Michael being William's son:
      Census showing Wm as Ellen's father suggests William and Sarah were 'together' by 1831. In both the 1841 and 1851 censuses they are living in the same house. It therefore seems reasonable to suppose that Michael was also their child.
      I thought Perry might be a clue to the father, but with Sarah's maiden name being Pering I guess it was meant to be this name, though looking at the death index image it looks as though it could have been Patey, further evidence of William being the father.
