Appointed Trustee of his will by his uncle, Thomas Efford Issell, along with another nephew, William Pike Issell, and the wife of TEI.
The will was written in 1870, TEI died 1874 when the will was proved in 1874 it was just by the 2 nephews, with "Power being reserved of granting Probate of the said Will to Betsey Winsor Issell, Widow, the Relict of the deceased, the other Executor".
The trustees were responsible for seeing that Betsey received the net income from Thomas's estate for the rest of her life, until her own death in 1884.

When his uncle Thomas Efford Issell wrote his will in 1870 he left a bequest to William, but only after his (TEI's) wife's death. This didn't occur until 1884.
"I give and devise my freehold field and barn with the appurtenances called "Carnes Close" situate in Stokenham aforesaid unto the said William Henry Pike (subject and chargeable as aforesaid with the payment of the two several sums of Fifty pounds hereinbefore bequeathed to my Nephews John Pike and Robert Pike"
