Name Ænæas SYMONS Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1683 Plymouth, Devon, England - Date and place assumed from baptism
(I estimated 1680 from date of first marriage; given the date of the burial I think he was his unlikely to have been much older).
Baptised 18 Oct 1683 Charles Church, Plymouth, Devon, England - From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 20 Feb 2016)
"18 Enos & Stephen both sons of Andrew & Rebecca Symmons" - under heading 'Baptizmes in Octobr i683'
Gender Male Occupation 1706 Plymouth, Devon, England Grocer - From document re property in Treville Street, Plymouth (at PWDRO, ref. 1302/94)
Property 4 Jan 1705/06 Treville Street, Plymouth, Devon, England - Aeneas sold by a lease of bargain and sale, dated as 'two Messuages Tenementes and Courtladges with their and every of their appurtences two Messuages Tenementes and Courtladges with their and every of their appurtences' in Treville Street to a merchant, William Ally.
The property was described as having the lands recently belonging to Humphrey Thomas deceased on the North, the lands recently belonging to Richard Symons also deceased on the East, Treville Street on the South and Weekes Street on the West.
(from indenture viewed at the PWDRO, Ref: 1302/94)
I don't know if this was the end of the Symons family in Treville Street - did the lands of Richard pass to a descendant of his? Was this the whole of his holding there that Aeneas sold or did he still have some? There is no further sign of Aeneas or any other Symons having property there so I suspect the family moved elsewhere at this time.
Occupation 1721 Wapping, Middlesex, England Distiller - At the time of his marriage - if I have the right marriage
Died Sep 1762 Plymouth, Devon, England - (assumed from burial)
Buried 15 Sep 1762 Charles Church, Plymouth, Devon, England - From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 27 Jan 2016)
"15. Eneas Symons" - under heading '[1762] Burials in September'Probably this Aeneas, given the unusual name. Though he did have several brothers who could have called a son after him, I have found no baptism or other evidence of one.

Family 2 Rebecca JEANS, bur. 18 Nov 1751, Charles Church, Plymouth, Devon, England Married 1 Aug 1721 St. Dunstan and All Saints’ Church, Stepney, Middlesex, England - I think it fairly safe to assume that the Ænæas who was married to Alice BASTARD subsequently married a Rebecca. The younger Ænæas whose first daughter was named Alice Bastard SYMONS then gave 3 more daughters the same names that an Ænæas and Rebecca had used about 20 years earlier.
I can't find the marriage of an Ænæas and Rebecca in Plymouth; hence I think Ænæas may have moved to Wapping before returning to Plymouth.
From PR entry, this marriage in Stepney in 1721:
"1721 ... August ... 1 Æeneas Simmonds of Wapin Distiller & Rebecca Jeans of same place Spinster"
(from PR entry on Ancestry; brief details also on FMP from Boyd's index)
The crazy way in which Ancestry order search results* makes it difficult to be sure, but there seem to be no children of Ænæas and Rebecca baptised in the London area (in those parishes whose PRs are indexed on Ancestry, or on FamilySearch, as at 27 Jan 2016), nor a burial of Ænæas, which means I can't rule out the couple who married in Stepney as the couple on my tree, and adds weight since it looks like they moved elsewhere.
(* Searching for a name similar to Simons, father's Christian name Ænæas; Ancestry list all those with the exact surname first, including those with a father's name nothing like Ænæas; given the common surname I tried lots of variants of Symon(d)s rather than looking through the thousands of results Ancestry produced, but may have missed the variant needed)
